Heather Sorrow, FNP-C
Our certified family nurse practitioner, Heather Sorrow, specializes in Internal Medicine. She is a lifelong resident of Perry and has always enjoyed taking care of others. She knew at a young age that she wanted to be a nurse. Heather graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). After completing her BSN, she worked as a Registered Nurse on the medical/surgical floor at a local healthcare facility, taking care of patients who were sick and those who were having surgery. After three years, Heather transferred to the labor and delivery department to help care for new mothers. She worked in that unit for seven years. In 2013, she decided to go back to school to become a nurse practitioner. She graduated with honors from Walden University in 2015 with her Master of Science in Nursing. Heather has been working with Dr. Cox since 2016 at Perry Internal Medicine. Heather resides in Perry with her husband, Travis, and their three children, Madison, River, and Easton. When she is not working, Heather enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
Hanna Barrett, Office Manager

Her hobbies include managing her online children’s boutique, softball, and spending time with friends and family. She attended Andrew College and earned an associate degree in Business Administration, and she went on for her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Information Technology at Middle Georgia Technical College. Her medical career started in 2007 at Houston Medical Center, working as a Health Unit Coordinator in the emergency department. During this time, she continued to attend classes at Middle Georgia Technical College and realized her passion for Medical Billing and Coding. She moved from the emergency department to the Business Office and then to the department, becoming a Certified Professional Coder. Currently, her areas of expertise include management, medical insurance, billing, and coding.
Whitney Blackburn, Medical Assistant
Whitney started with us in November 2018. She was born and raised here in Middle Georgia and has primarily lived in Warner Robins. Currently, she resides in Peach County with her life partner, Chris, and two little boys, Potter and Lachlan. Whitney studied nursing at Middle Georgia State University and plans to study under Dr. Cox in hopes of one day becoming a physician’s assistant. Whitney found her niche in the medical field when her eldest son, Potter, was diagnosed with gastroschisis, a relatively common cell-migration defect, at birth. Whitney feels she needs to reciprocate the care and compassion she was shown by all the nurses and doctors that treated Potter while they lived at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In her spare time, Whitney enjoys running, hiking, camping, painting, and playing music.
