Our Physician- David J. Cox, MD

David J. Cox, MD | Perry Internal Medicine

Dr. Cox attended William Carey College in Hattiesburg, MS where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He then went on to Nova Southeastern University and received his Master of Medical Science degree and completed a Physician Assistant Program. Next, Dr. Cox attended the University of St. Eustatius School of Medicine in Netherland Antilles, AUX where he was top in his class and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. He graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Some of his past experiences include being the Chief Resident at Mercer University and an Emergency Room Physician Assistant at the DeKalb Medical Center. He also worked as a Midlevel Hospitalist and Physician Assistant while he was pursuing his dream of becoming a medical doctor. From his years of experience, Dr. Cox is skilled at effectively interacting with patients and accurately diagnosing medical conditions.

Dr. Cox is focused on the health of the Middle Georgia community, as well as that of all his patients. With his expertise and formal training, Dr. Cox works to provide the highest quality of care and is committed to helping every patient reach their optimal level of health. Planting roots in Perry, Dr. Cox has created a loving home with his wife, Amanda, and three beautiful children. In his free time, Dr. Cox enjoys playing the guitar, playing softball, and spending quality time with his family.
